Ideally situated at the mouth of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the waters surrounding Port Renfrew are home to some of British Columbia’s most famous fishing grounds, including the mouth of the Nitinat River and the legendary Swiftsure Bank. These nutrient-rich waters are teeming with krill, herring, and other baitfish, creating ideal feeding grounds for Chinook salmon, coho salmon, Pacific halibut, lingcod, rockfish, Dungeness crab, and a variety of other species.

Getting there:

Port Renfrew is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, approximately 100 km from Victoria. A scenic drive west along Highway 14 will take you from Victoria to Port Renfrew in just under two hours.
